Denver Criminal Defense Attorney Tyler B. Selcer

Tyler Brandon O’Leary Selcer grew up in Golden, Colorado, and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder for his undergraduate degrees. While in Boulder, Tyler earned three bachelor’s degrees in International Affairs, Spanish Literature, and Political Science. Additionally, Tyler was a Lead Facilitator in the University of Colorado Restorative Justice Program. He worked with university staff and students to address student legal violations through reconciliation with victims and the community at large.

Following his time in Boulder, Tyler was admitted to the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver. Tyler focused on Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Trial Practice, and Constitutional Law while earning his Juris Doctorate.

Tyler began working as a Law Clerk at the Law Office of Jacob E. Martinez in the Spring of 2015. During his time clerking, Tyler gained valuable experience doing legal research, communicating with clients, and preparing motions, briefs, and other dispositive pleadings.

While attending DU and working with Mr. Martinez, Tyler also worked in the chambers of the Honorable Judge Meissner-Cutler in the 18th Judicial District. This allowed him to draft orders in several cases and further his legal research abilities.

After law school, Tyler moved to Savannah, Georgia, and became a licensed attorney in South Carolina. While working in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Tyler diversified his legal skill set and assisted clients in residential and commercial real estate transactions, probate matters, debt mitigation/negotiation, and estate plans.
